“Nature Does Not Hurry…
…and yet everything is accomplished,” a quote by Lao Tzu.
I’ve seen this quote many dozens if not hundreds of times and tonight, it is so meaningful to me. It represents what I am working through in this moment which is that I am in deep need of restoration back to the natural rhythms of my body. It is to listen to and honor my own pace. This can be so challenging when the outer world does not reflect this back and there is so much impatience. When there are so many demands. I am struggling to see and feel the abundant grace. I am consumed by the pace. It feels fast and unforgiving. In the poem, “The Peace of the Wild Things,” by Wendell Berry, the protagonist shares that grace is in the world, from nature. This is because the Earth is pure abundance and she is the truest teacher. She represents all that is real and if we listen to her rhythm, we can be restored.
Intellectually, I know this and embodying this is another thing. This is the work I’m doing, to carry that archetypal essence and truly live from a place of abundance.
If you’re reading this, can you please take a breath to clear and set the intention to breathe this in and breath out any urgency. We are not in a rush.
